Isaac Pierro, 28, was born and raised in Stockton, California, where his humble beginnings forced him to pick up his pen and create his own toys when times were rough. When he finished watching G.I. Joe on Saturday morning, and realized his family didn’t have the money to supply him with the endless cartoon related products owned by his schoolmates, Pierro drew his own characters on pieces of cardboard and immersed himself in a creativity that would later take the art world by storm. When Pierro turned 17, he dedicated his craft to the world of graffiti, exposing his art to the city of Stockton in the form of intricate murals and complex lettering. Pierro moved to Los Angeles in 2002, leaving behind his job as a well-known tattoo artist to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time artist. Since then Pierro’s work has been seen in a number of established galleries on the West Coast including Copro Nason, Gallery 1988, Thinkspace and M Modern. Isaac Pierro’s contribution to the annual show "I AM 8-BIT" entitled "Luigi For Sheezy" has gained worldwide attention, was published in numerous magazines and featured on KTLA’s morning news. He’s come a long way from needing to create his own toys (although he’ll design his own vinyl version in 2007) – but the creativity and resourcefulness from his upbringing is securing Isaac Pierro’s name as one to look for in the years ahead.
