ZOSO
was born and raised in Torrance, Ca, a suburb of Los Angeles. He has been drawing sense he could hold a crayon, and has always leaned towards art. He took up painting shortly after high school, and attended El Camino College, a small community school with a descent art program where he studied life painting and drawing. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002, where he was exposed to a more urban lifestyle. Graffiti and underground art inspired him, and his art progressed from the “rockstar idol” phase to a more imaginative and cartoony style. Aside from being an artist, he works in production as a stagehand/ lighting crew.

CREATE/DESTROY is his current theology in his artwork. He implements street art as a means of self promoting propaganda, advertisements if you will. He vandalizes public spaces, and uses found objects for his fine art and vandalizes them to make them beautiful. It is a very urban form of expression, he use pieces of wood or other objects that are acquired from one place or another and already have a story. This draws the user to define vandalism, and to analyze the difference between the paint on a utility box and the paint on a piece of found wood. The style is influenced from many sources, including graffiti and pop culture cartoons, the philmore artists of the 60's, many contemporary underground artists and artists of yesteryear such as Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimpt.
