Distinction Gallery Presents: "The Lost Children"

A special exhibition by artist Jana Brike running May 8 - June 5th

Distinction Gallery continues its grand tradition of exposing the newest talents to the Southern California region by featuring, "The Lost Children,: Jana Brike. Her style is evocative and entrancing, visiting children frozen in moments of emotion. The opening reception as well as live music will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 from 6-11 PM. Wine and Karl Strauss beer will be provided for those over 21. We hope you will join us in viewing this exemplary showing.

Jana Brike was born 29 years old, and is based in Northern Europe. She attended the Art Academy of Latvia, and has shown in numerous places across Europe including galleries in Venice, Italy; Ropazi, Latvia; St. Petersburg, Russia; and London, England. Her penchant for arresting, dream-state (or nightmare-state depending on the piece) images, is delightfully provocative and wonderfully imaginative.

Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery; which changes monthly; "The Alley", featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists; 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, which feature the work of local artists, in a variety of styles and mediums, and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge art work with a soft focus on Urban Surrealism. Distinction exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists.

Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses a gallery and 14 artist studios ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet.
