Claudia NockeHer paintings and illustrations of wildlife and pets come from her deep love for animals and art. She was born and raised in Germany, studied biology in England and currently lives in Escondido, CA. She has lived in many unique places with incredible wildlife - such as the Costa Rican rain forest or Catalina Island. Through her work as a wildlife biologist, she has been able to observe up close and even handle most of the animals featured in her art. Intimately knowing these animals has allowed her to see and capture expressions and personalities. One of Claudias goals as a wildlife artist is to help people make a connection and inspire them to learn more about wild animals and their habitats. She believes that people can coexist with wildlife, even in urban areas and by learning more about wildlife, we can become better stewards of nature and help protect wildlife and wildlands for future generations. Claudias paintings have been used in various publications. The book "A Guide to the Carnivores of Central America," which she co-wrote with herhusband, Carlos de la Rosa features 94 graphite illustrations. Some of her paintings and illustrations have helped promote organizations ranging from conservation projects to wildlife rehabilitation and animal care facilities. Most of Claudias work is done in watercolor, oil, encaustic, or graphite.
