David Friedman

David Friedman grew up in Encinitas, Ca. submerged in the heart of skateboard culture. His interest in creating art was developed during down time while recovering from skate injuries. David took extensive drawing and painting classes at San Dieguito Academy (SDA). Although David has experimented with a variety of mediums, his work is primarily free hand with pen and ink. David's accolades include creating record cover art for various musicians in the SD/LA area and a ski/snowboard design with Deviation USA.

Both he and his art were originally inspired by skate and punk culture. While his inspirations have multiplied, his roots remain intact. David studied Geography with a focus in Environmental Studies at San Francisco State University (SFSU) and applies some of the concepts and theories he learned in that program to his artwork.

When not working on art, David spends time running his business (Dave's Hot Tubs), catching padres, games, hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hanging with his dog - Leia.
