Margaret Chiaro

Margaret Chiaro was born in York, Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a cum laude BFA. She then went on to attain her MFA from the New York Academy of Art, a graduate school of figurative art. She has exhibited nationally in a variety of galleries in New York City, Hudson, NY, Hoboken, NJ, Tucson, AZ, Carlsbad, CA, Oceanside, CA, Del Mar, CA, Vista, CA, Escondido, CA, Hanover, PA, and York, PA. She currently resides in Oceanside, California and is a working artist, gallery manager, art instructor, and yoga instructor. Margaret uses figurative painting to invite the viewer to enter a magical world or moment. Spending up to 200 hours on a single painting, painting everything by hand, and painting detail requiring a three-hair paintbrush, she obsessively renders her subjects, caught in moments when they are open and expressive.
