Press StatementDistinction Gallery is delighted to present "Distinction Studio Artists": 34 Local Artist Works on Display, a show featuring work from our plethora of highly talented, local artists. With various styles and methods, Distinction Gallery's resident artists host a wide range of emotions and directions, though all with a commonality of the unconventional. Included artists are Kelly Vivanco, Roel Jovellanos, Phillip Scholz Rittermann, Martita, Nick Mikesell, James Ivey, Major Morris, Julie Arroyo, Brady Beard, Lindy Ivey, Tracy Mikesell, Will Gibson, Judith Preston, Kim Zuill, Velvet De Oro, Darrel McPherson, Kendra Binney, Diane Hattula, Rosemary Valente, Norma Brinker, Jamie Kanes, Jamie Kaufhold, Jennifer Anichowski, Gloria Muriel, Igor Koutsenko, Martin Nasim, Neil Simon Poyuzina, Sharif Carter, David Flynn, Desiree Fleck, Skye Walker, Marco Chavez, Becky Siminou, and Luis Castello. The opening with the artists and live music will be held on Saturday June 12th from 6-11pm with complimentary Karl Strauss Beer and wine. The exhibition will run through July 3, 2010.
The entire "In addition to the exhibition the "Alley" will be packed with an additional 75+ artworks, featuring pieces by internationally acclaimed artists from around the globe, as well as "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. Our 14 studios featuring more than 35 local artists will also be open, displaying paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, fashion, and much more.
Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses a gallery and 14 artist studios ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet. The Gallery features contemporary and cutting edge art work with a soft focus on Urban Surrealism. Distinction exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists and is located at: 317 East Grand Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025.
